Rib
Crib Hosts 1st Annual Golf Invitational to Benefit the
March of Dimes
BROKEN
ARROW, OK – November 1, 2003 – Rib Crib and F&M Bank joined
the fight against birth defects by hosting the 1st Annual
RIB CRIB GOLF INVITATIONAL, which benefited the March
of Dimes. The golf outing took place on October 27, 2003
at The Golf Club of Oklahoma in Broken Arrow.
Ninety-two
golfers participated in the first annual event presented
by F&M Bank. Support from the business community accounted
for much of the tournament’s success, according to March
of Dimes Division Director, Laurie Applekamp. In addition
to F&M bank, major sponsors included: The Holmes Organisation,
Fred Daniel & Sons (Jim Ruley), Dr Pepper/Seven UP, KMO
Development Group, Sara Lee Coffee & Tea, Smalley Equipment
Company (The Stock Pot) and Claude Federal Neon Signs.
"The
event was extremely successful, and surpassed our expectations,"
commented President and CEO of Rib Crib Corporation, Bret
Chandler. The tournament was an eighteen-hole scramble
followed by a play-off of the top four teams. The event
featured numerous hole prizes, which included a 2004 Corvette
provided by Lake Country Chevrolet.
A
barbecue lunch was provided on the course by Rib Crib,
followed by hors d'oeuvres donated by Fleming’s Steakhouse
during the awards ceremony. The emcee was KOTV Channel
6 sports anchor, Mike Wolfe. Exceptional prizes and awards,
including two round-trip tickets donated by Karen Chastain
of Journey House Travel, were won during the ceremony.
Doc Geiger’s Outdoor Adventures filmed the event.
The
first place team was U.S. Beef Corp (Arby’s). Coming in
second was CNF Signs & J.R Simplot Company. Fred Daniel
& Sons and James D. Ruley came in third place and PF Unlimited,
Global DocuGraphiX, & Superior Linen came in fourth.
